vocaloid
deep sea miku 1/8 scale figure by good smile company
What a huge figure! I really badly underestimated 1/7 scale when i bought her (not to mention how MASSIVE the box would have to be to fit her) but she's so unusual i couldn't pass. Didn't hurt that she was half price!
I really love how well she's been sculpted; it's extremely close to the art which i think takes a good amount of talent. Some reviewers took issue with how her mouth is sculpted and generally found it slightly uncanny valley, but i don't mind it. You don't see too many figures with mouths sculpted open that way (with teeth...and stuff) so it's a bit refreshing. I also love how her hair fades from green to blue and then clear at the tips. |
rin kagamine - nuclear fusion / meltdown figure |
I've wanted this figure for quite some time now, so i'm glad i finally found her.
I love the vocaloid song this figure is about, especially Rin's older, more mature design. The base and detail on this figure is amazing! My one gripe is that she's tiny. She's meant to be 1/8 scale but there is no way. She's closer to 1/10 scale i feel. |
rin, len & luka extra figures
nendoroid petit selection box
These are so cute! Got this set for the deep sea and Romeo & Cinderella Mikus, but i also have a soft spot for Daughter /Servant of evil Rin and Len. Luka's other figure is also very nice, but i don't know what song it's from.
These are very well detailed for such small figures, and they're each posable to an extent. They can even switch parts like the regular sized nendoroids! Putting them on their bases is a little fiddly though, and really does your fingers in. |
